on le rire ep jared wilson (7777 - skudge / detroit) leads the way with a pest chicago-house inspired rework, devilishly and deliciously analog without whittling down to a mere old-school homage, a sort of us-acid-dubstep version of addison groove, with a taste of slacker jak-beat for the nirvana generation! a melodic decomposer, scottish dam mantle (warp - ghostly international / glasgow) deceitfully feigns to mellow with what could at first glance seem like an edit. however deep excavations into the intense choir of >voyage vers l harmonie< leads to a surreal confrontation between a slum village like beat and a post-industrial version of melody nelson. thundery atmospheres, slippery slopes… the best way to pay tribute to luc marianni. famous for his duo as well as his label syncom data, nukubus (bunker / rotterdam) is nonetheless an inspired soloist, as this breathtaking remix once again proves. the 11 minutes long krautrock tunnel leaves many envious of its authenticity and sheer technical virtuosity. this swirling reinterpretation of mariannis work manages to leave the original behind and come into its own. its out of respect for the original work that nukubus requested to be credited only as a remixer. if youve bothered to read the few lines above, please remember it is both easier and wiser to form your own opinion with the vinyl in your own two hands. please note that the distribution of these eps will be accompanied by some very limited original editions of luc mariannis vinyls

anhura vinyls debut in the exclusive and acclaimed vinyl edition is, as it was expected, a complete success. max chapman & aj christou are in charge of gruds & kecks. this release starts with a moderate disco house nearly background melody at some points, and evolves into more tech grounds which plunge us directly in a deep, retro-spatial sphere. a place where this electronic and bass sounds coming from the 80s and 90s provide it with amazing timelessness whenever it is heard. it is an uncommon release diverging from the mainstream and ideal to start a completely promising series.

toby deschamps under his alias jackbox, delivers a freaky minimal techno release for pick time and aftehours lovers. the three tracks set a straight groove with huge baseline, finely surrounded by synthetisers waves, ufo like, and by heavy home-made voices. those voices could make you think after dan bell or even a voice coming straight from somewhere out of the space in a science fiction movie. if you are a regular guest of the klub der visionär you know how it can be spacy on this kitchen floor. anyway, over there, you might have heard toby playing in the past years at his monthly party drop out or for other occasions.then, the tracks of this release are familiar to you as there are some classics from him he likes to play to get people in his music spiral. generaly it can last 12 hours! enjoy the trip.

smith & mudd are back in fine style on claremont 56, following up their excellent lp with this great double header! >sauna love< is the lead track, an uptempo, string laden boogie house affair with great vibes, bass, strings and punchy percussion all rolling along into the sunshine. on side-b >the surveyor< is a great piece of otherworldly electronic music, coming on like some weird cough medicine induced dream. the bass pulses along with mystery dialogue, light key flourishes and an intent that is delivered about 5 minutes in when the kick drops and the whole thing shifts into a latenight, alt disco bomb.

time to get deep into some funky tech house (and not just knee deep)! this swirling groove infused with the vocals of dutch talent ivanildo kembel and george clintons beats delivers a glittering injection of polished 2012 soul.

part two of the two vinyl samplers taken from dj w!lds barnstorming d!rty album released on cabin fever this month. featuring four of the choice licks from the album spread over two 12s. >remember< is a twisted slice of dark chicago influenced underground house, whilst on the flip >dirty< is a sparse tech work out with some ominous vocals.. a great second part of these two samplers!!

for world unknown 6 weve headed up north for a newcastle double header. on side w emile strunz delivers some stunning midtempo body music sleaze. on side u the last waltz guys get all subsonic and spacey with lovebites. as youd expect both tracks are pure wu and guaranteed to demolish all proper dancefloors.

following the jordan peak ep there is more pumping action on morris audio with its 80th release! young french producer julien sandre makes his full release debut on morris audio – great beats and sexy basslines are the key elements of the hypnotic js sound. and the remix of nico lahs (ovum, pokerflat) reminds us of some of these old killer svek releases. yeah, music wont stop!

the ninth release from the mainrecords shop, on its eponymously titled label comes in the form of three tracks of slick late night electro from matt star, plus a remix from perseus traxx. with well over three dozen releases under his belt in one guise or another matt star aka mattias schildger is no stranger at all to production of high quality electronic music, as this latest ep clearly displays. happily blurring boundaries between house and electro, with its tight, crisp beats the release exudes a form of stripped back and honest late night cool with basses that bubble in a way sometimes reminiscent of ed dmx, while others lend more of a chicago feel accompanied by rolling toms. synth lines and arpeggiations cut in and out of subtle modulations giving the feel of anticipation one gets while tearing along the motorways of a city, late at night, the lights of the city and other vehicles brightly darting by, streaking and reflecting across the cars windscreen. perseus traxx delivers a subtle remix that remains true to the elements of the original and while adding a booming kick and some of his own production techniques, influences and grit to the mix, shows he isnt stuck in one genre or sound.

detroit house at its best. amazing high tech jazz influenced 4 tracker by orlando b. after hearing orlando bs 2 full eps on germanys yore records, ric mcclelland & sean grieve head hunted the scottish producer for their seven music label. orlandos first outting on the belfast imprint was at the start of 2012 with a remix of giorgio luceris >one more time<. not content with just a remix, seven music asked orlando for some original works and here we have the >city life ep<. 4 tracks of chicago and detroit inspired goodness! the scottish producer and dj started making music at the age of 15 using an atari and notator sl. inspired by artists such as jeff mills, the advent, dave clarke and ian pooley, orlando began his career making techno. fast forward to 2012, orlandos studio is predominantly analogue based and his sounds have progressed to a deeper and more retrospective house sound. with 4 original tracks (1 of which is exclusive to the 12inch vinyl) the >city life ep< is arguably orlandos finest work to date. timeless yet forward thinking electronic music with soul and a record that deserves a place in any discerning djs collection!

this is the debut release of berlin based producer franklin de costa on mule musiq. he has released from some various label like curle or trapez. title track on a side is atmospheric jazzy deep house. if you like the sound of larry heard, you will definitely be into this song. b side is berlin manner dark house tracks. maybe it is for fans of omar s.

>where are you now< was originally released in 2009 as the second release on best works records. a track in which lodemanns 90ies house-music knowledge is combined with the sounds of today always keeping the equilibrium between a classic american house-feel and berlin-ortientated somewhat minimal influence. of course the track also clearly shows lodemanns typical dramatic changes. the track became an underground hit over the years with a lot of people doing their own edits. we decided to re-release it with some remixes by some of our favorite artists incl. jimpster and ripperton. both managed to interpret the original vibe in their own way.

so what is after the void ... we bang the bomb of course with a lady in a thong surrounded by snakes and hand grenades, obvious really! having been away for some time it appears that a light sounds dark spring is in the air. en route to their next destination (rumoured to be a dark subterranean world full of nasty mutants danger electrified tracks out this summer) with arms out the window and the mothership roof down, its full steam ahead and proper european dance music time. not really train spotting as before although a couple are a bit off piste like maltas very own ian dury by the name of iain richardson rapping about sitting on a green bus! much more like it however are classic italo covers of big in japan, gloria, a wonderful new wave version of falcos euro smash der kommissar and the thoughts massive german hit wait a long time sounding like some long lost talk talk record. light sounds dark do some minor tweaking (going for that natural look) to big beast anthems axodrys you and colme 111s you take me high (early euro take on chicago) and for lovers of something a bit more funky theres some groovy goings on from kraut funksters epsilon urging people to leave the city which might not be a bad idea if the water runs out.

we think everything we release on frijsfo is fresh. at the same time we believe it doesnt hurt to stay in touch with your roots, which is something buzzin10 does in a fascinating way. we cant tell you much about this young producer from east london, a publicity-shy individual whose music we first heard thanks to his older brother. but we do know he pieces together rhythms by sampling fragments from old tape packs – mainly garage nations late 90s recordings of some of the best djs of all time, including dj ez, karl tuff enuff brown, dj luck & mc neat, and ray hurley.
dj support so far comes from sully, desto, oslek, warlock, kingthing, resketch, rk and ltf (wifey ldn), cardopusher, valta, dusk & blackdown

some proper peak time house tracks on uks dogmatik label blending uk garage vibes with traditional us house. one of londons finer house imprints (the label introduced some fine works by the talents of maya jane coles, stojche and alex arnout)!they deliver the goods once more with talented london producers dusky, with the flo jam ep, four tracks of quality house already gathering support from the likes of lee foss, maya jane coles and huxley, to name a few.

clone classic cuts continues their re-issues series for one of the most influential techno acts ever: drexciya. the second selection of tracks includes favorites such as bang-bang,positron island,anti vapour waves and journey home complimented with some lesser or unknown tracks. raw, uncompromising music made with soul and creativity have always has been the trademark of drexciya (and also from their original label underground resistance) and this album is another showcase of their talents. btw there is not much further background info we can give. all that can be revealed is already out there.

alden tyrell hooked up with mike dunn for some new work!. a golden combination which already worked out great as we learned from the heavy remix tyrell did for the murphy jax & mike dunn collaboration (its the music - cat# cjfd06). tyrell always jamming and playing around with his synths had some tracks inspired by early mike dunn songs. so the obvious happened ... the hooked up for some appropiate vocals and here it is ... touch the sky! a peak time acid monster with mikes vocal chant in the style of his classic md3 projects. gerd is on remix duty here and delivers a killer remix with a more traditional chicago groove and build up. clone head honcho serge had some studio time with tyrell for a dub mix. the serge & tyrell dub mix turned out a bit wild and became a classic piece of piano and dx bass driven chicago house music with stuttering vocal samples and a acidic synth line. another strong clone jack for daze!

second part of recycling a la bau, heavy food this time with heavy percussion and rassling rides throughout the whole track. trikeracing is far beyond control, this track is a soundexplosion, nothing less. shuffleracing is a bit more reduced featuring a different groove and focussing on the sawtooth theme of the basic version. two more killers, no fillers, again on credo! nice feedback and support by faki, liebing, bodzin and many more, but the most defining feedback by mr. gary beck, no other words could describe it in a better way: by goodness me the trikeracing is wicked!! thats some heavy shit there. at the right moment i cant wait to play this! ... word!

semtek leaves the comfort of his excellent dont be afraid imprint to supply the third 12 inch on andy blake s in plain sight label, following stellar turns from youngtee and maarten van der vleuten. its not the first time blake has called on the london-based producers services - world unknown devotees will remember the monolithic >tacos for dinner< cut in association with chardonnay that appeared on that labels most recent 12 inch. >couer de lyon< is a chunky house jam of the highest order, shuffling hats, a stripped back bassline and a vocal many of you will recognise from one of mks most legendary remixes combine for a cut that overflows with sultry late night passion. flip over for some soundtracky house in the shape of >beaufort<, an analogue jam in the mould of legowelt that retains a club-ready potency and thus offers a more heads-down alternative to the a-side.

a new label from some of the decision makers at juno arrives in the shape of love interest, promising a release schedule that eschews genres in favour of seeking out international talent that piques their fancy. minneapolis-based nyteowl is at the helm for the first release with >love of mine<. this clear vinyl twelve inch edition sports two fine remixes from boy 8 bit and mighty mouse, which naturally take the 80s swagger of the original in differing directions. boy 8 bit calls on all his studio trickery with a remix that constantly shifts sonically before dropping into an excellent final detuned synth passage, whilst nu-disco troupe mighty mouse are on soaring form, adding some meat to that beat, whilst nyteowls vocal hitches a ride on an upwards arpeggio.
